Oman Drilling Systems LLC (MODUS)
Oman Drilling Systems llc (ODS, Modus or the company) is an integrated technology development, manufacturing, and oilfield services company. ODS was established in 2013 as a Limited Liability Company at Muscat that began operations in 2015 focusing on designing, engineering and manufacturing drilling tools in Oman for Oil & Gas industry.
Leveraging over two decades of drilling and research experience of its founder, ODS has a mission of engineering solutions using technology to address drilling challenges. These solutions would be of both evolutionary and disruptive/revolutionary in nature.
Localized solutions for the drilling industry
By 2015, ODS developed its first PDC Drill Bit prototype under the brand name of “Almas” and a Mud Motor bearing section made entirely in Oman under the brand name of “HydroMac Power or HMP”.
After three years of trials, tests and prototype iterations, the Almas PDC Drill Bits were successful commercialized by securing long-term contracts with major E&P Operators in Oman. ODS continues to develop and commercialize other drilling tool prototypes and remains the only indigenous Omani PDC Drill Bits brand manufacturer.
